Playing catch up...

Last month I went to a 4 day workshop put on by Mike Colon. (If you haven't heard of Mike Colon go check him out. Aside from being one of the nicest, most genuine guys you'll ever meet, he's also a heck of a photographer.) So last month 12 photographers from around the country converged on Mike's place in Newport Beach and over the course of the week we all became great friends. At the end of the week we all said our goodbyes but also planned to meet up in Las Vegas for WPPI.

Here's the group that went to Mike's Seminar. All of them are amazing photographers and even better people.

Every year in March WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) holds their annual convention and tradeshow. This was my first year going and I will never miss it again! As great as all of the learning in the seminars was, as well as checking out the latest and greatest from every company having anything remotely to do with photography or weddings it was all about the people. Hanging out with all my friends from across the country and making tons of new friends as well was totally worth all of the money I lost at the blackjack table, poker table, nickle slots... and boy did I lose. Well technically I didn't really lose all that much money but I lost every time I sat down to play.

Here are a few pics from the week:
Here are most of the photographers from the Colon Workshop plus Danny Heinlein. Danny didn't come to the workshop but he's good friends of one of the guys who did so he stayed with us and hung out all week.

Here we go, left to right... Back Row:Your's Truly, Danny Heinlein, Corey McNabb, David Burke, Tomas Flint.

Front Row: Tiffany Aicklen, Danielle Reedy, Andy Peterson.

These were taken in a Simple Photo Booth. It was sponsored by Jessica Claire's Shootsac and invented by the incredible Dane Sanders This is something I'm going to be adding to my top packages in the future as well as an a la carte item if you want to have one at your wedding. This thing was a BLAST and was the hit of the convention. It will also be the hit of your wedding! So much fun! Let me know if you want one at your wedding.

I'll be posting more about the week, the people I met and the amazing products I saw in the coming days but this post is already getting too long.

Talk to you soon!
