Brad and Julie

Sunday night I went to Laguna Beach to shoot Brad and Julie's engagement pictures. We to the beach went down by the Montage and then walked around the resort and got a few shots up there as well. It was such an amazing day. The sunset was beautiful, the water was as blue as I've ever seen it and the pictures came out great. They were such a fun couple to shoot plus I don't think I could take a bad picture of them. Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

Brianna and Alan

Today Tyler and I went down to Huntington Beach to shoot Brianna and Alan's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception and there were SO MANY personal touches. Brianna put so much work into this day, making it amazing and so special. I'm trying to convince her to go into wedding planning. One of the things they did that was so much fun is that because the were married on the beach they couldn't have music to walk down the aisle to, so Alan's daughters carried a sign announcing "here come's the bride". They were so excited to be a part of the wedding. Here are a few pics from the day.

Back to school

Tonight I shot Lilia and Jose's engagement pictures. They met seven years ago at Chapman University so it was only fitting to go back there for the engagement shoot. When Lilia said they wanted to do the shoot there I was a little skeptical, having never been on the campus, but I went along with it. I'm so glad they chose that location. The campus was beautiful and had so many great places to shoot... and I think we used them all. From the chapel, to the gardens, to the library and theater, I think we covered every building on campus plus the elevator in the art building. I had a great time and am really looking forward to their wedding in November. Here are a few shots from tonight.

Makenzie "George Costanza" Norwood

I hope we have some Seinfeld fans reading today.

Do you remember that episode where George gets dicovered as a hand model? He goes on a shoot and they make this gigantic deal about how beautiful his hands are. He gets paid for the shoot and then realizes how great it could be to make a living having pictures taken of his hands. He gets called for another shoot and starts wearing oven mits on his hands so that they don't get hurt. Well, he ends up burning his hands on a hot iron effectively ending his career as a hand model.

So you're asking yourself, "Why is Michael talking about an episode of Seinfeld?" This morning Makenzie was playing. She was climbing on her stroller, which she does every day. She fell off the stroller, which she also does every day. But this time she decided to break the fall with her face... her beautiful, potentially money makin' face. She's ok and was up and playing 2 minutes later but what are the people casting the commercial going to say when they see her nice new shiner? Cyndie's afraid they're gonna report us to CPS.

Move over Dakota Fanning!

I think I might have metioned it here before but my daughter Makenzie is out-of-control beautiful... off the charts. Since she was born people have always told us, "You need to get her into modeling". We just blew it off at first but when we moved to California we decided to give it a shot. We didn't want to get a few years down the road only to wonder, "What would have happened if?"

So this spring we sent some photos of her to some agencies and got several calls. She ended up signing with a couple of agencies, one for modeling, one for acting. Well after that not much happened, its been about 6 months and we have only gotten a few leads but nothing we'd want her to do... horror films and such. We didn't care, at least we tried. Tonight though, we were at the park playing and Cyndie got a call from her agent and she has an audition for a national Cadillac commercial tomorrow! So say a prayer, think happy thoughts, and send some good vibes her way tomorrow (Tuesday).

When she was born she wouldn't come out so Cyndie had to be induced and it still took almost 3 days from the time we got into the hospital. Needless to say, those days added up and she cost us about $5K over our insurance. Its about time she started working some of that off!

Engagement at The Getty

Tonight, after many reschedules, I got to shoot Olivia and Jose's engagement pictures. They decided they wanted to have them taken at The Getty Center which I thought was awesome. We got there around 4 o'clock and left at about 6:40. We were the last ones to leave and the only ones on the tram for the ride back. They are so much fun to be around and Jose keeps Olivia laughing all the time. I can't wait for their wedding in a few weeks!

... 2 for the show

Today I shot my second wedding of the weekend. Jeff and Laura got married on the beach at Point Dume in Malibu. It was amazing. The wedding was beautiful, the scenery was killer and the couple was a dream to photograph. After the ceremony we headed down to Santa Monica for the reception which was held at Mariasol, an awesome mexican restaurant, at the end of the pier. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Big, huge props to my assistant/second photographer, Tyler, for climbing the cliff to get the amazing shots from way up high. He is the best!
