11 years.

Last week I shot Anita and Steven's wedding up in Malibu at Calamigos Ranch.  They've been together for 11 years... since they were in high school.  That's 2 years longer than my wife and I have been together and we've been married for 7 and a half.  The whole day they were so relaxed and just a ton of fun to be around. I had such a great time and felt like family the whole time. They saw each other before the ceremony so we had all kinds of time with the couple alone and with their family and friends. I never push couples into doing that but sometimes it makes the day go a little smoother. Here are some images from the day.

I love this moment while they're watching the slideshow her brother made for them.
I was trying out a new lighting technique at the reception, I really like it.  Its a little more dramatic than my usual way.  Both have their place but its fun to play around.

And a sweet ring shot to finish it up.

Bryn and Matt

Last week I met Bryn and Matt down in San Juan Capistano for their engagement session. We shot around the train depot and then around the Los Rios district. They were so much fun. They kept telling me the whole time how they hate having their picture taken and how awkward they are but as you can see, they were awesome "models" for me. Here are a few of my favorites.

Liz and Chris

Last weekend I flew out to Nashville, TN with my good friend Trever for Liz and Chris' Wedding. I'm so lucky that one of my best friends is also one of the best photographers I know. We had an incredible time there and got to shoot one of the coolest weddings. It was held at the Bellmeade Plantation. Amazing. Not too many plantations in California. It was really fun to shoot a wedding so different. It had tons of personal touches and lots of southern charm. Here are a few of my favorites.

Here's Trever... Sorry ladies, he's taken.

Liz was up for anything to get good images so we went down to the riverbed to shoot!

The rockin' Manolo Blahniks she was sporting that day!

Its hard to mess up shooting in a place like this.  Anybody else want to get married in Nashville?

I love this picture.  It feels so southern and patriotic.
